So every time when India wins a high voltage thriller and fans go insane posting statuses and forwarding messages everywhere... You don't have to scream out time and again about how you hate cricket and the fact that most of us go crazy for it. It of course doesn't lesson the joy but brings a whiny tone into celebration mood. It's okay, some don't like cricket, we get it. No need to repeat and vent out your cricketphobia every time.
And yes, if you think cricket is made out to be bigger deal (religion or whatever) than it is then it so should be. Because it is undeniably the most loved and widely followed game in India and it had to be so. Name a sport (a team one) that we have been dominating for as long as this one, on international circuit...Name a sport that has given India as many legends and icons as cricket... And most importantly, name a sport which is as easy to play as a bat and ball, anywhere from playground to streets and balcony to classrooms. There we know, why cricket!
Yes, we do have more serious issues to discuss in the world but so are in our own lives. Don't we? But then such exciting matches is what gives us that much needed break from the tiring routine.
Also supporting the opposite team because you like that team makes sense out of nowhere. I mean bitch please, you don't even like the game. Then how can you flaunt 'game is bigger than teams' gyaan. That's a failed logic in your case. Just accept that you do it to tease and piss off those who happen to give a shiz about it. Not all do though.
